Gravity Falls S1E6 “Dipper vs Manliness”

I think teaching with Gravity Falls is a good idea, because the majority of kids are familiar with the show, so it’s very likely that some of your students have seen at least a few episodes.

The episodes are quite short (around 20 minutes), so it’s possible to show the whole thing in one or two class periods.

The exercises for this episode are suitable for levels from Elementary to Intermediate.
The 1st worksheet has comprehension questions focused on Present Continuous.
The 2nd worksheet is focused on reordering events from the story.

My routine for teaching with Gravity Falls is to:

1. Watch the first part on one lesson.
2. Give a homework task related to the episode (write/draw what will happen in the second part or write the dialogue between the two characters).
3. Watch the second part on the next lesson.
